The Chicago Bulls are reported to be interested in trading for newly-crowned EuroLeague and Final Four MVP Vasilije Micic.
According to Mozzart Sport, the Bulls have been considering to acquire Micic and are ready to hit the market to get the player’s rights from the Oklahoma City Thunder even before the NBA Draft night (29/7).
Recently, Micic’s agent mentioned to Novosti that he won’t allow his client to head to the NBA just to be a bench guy. He also said that if he doesn’t get guarantees that there is a “good and right” situation in store for Micic, then the Serbian guard’s NBA debut will be postponed for another year.
Micic, who just finished the 2020-21 campaign as the EuroLeague and Turkish BSL League champion with Anadolu Efes, becomes a free agent.
The Thunder acquired Micic’s rights from the Philadelphia 76ers in December. Some months afterwards, Micic was named the EuroLeague MVP and then led Efes to the first EuroLeague title in the history of the club by posting 25 points on 8-14 shots, five assists and three steals in a win over Barcelona in the championship game. He won Final Four MVP after posting 25.0 points (15-33 f.g.), 5.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in the semifinal win over CSKA Moscow and the final.
Micic, 27, completed the EuroLeague season with with 16.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.9 rebounds overall in 29:59.
